    Heather Kadin (born 7 August 1972; age 51) is an executive producer of Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Short Treks, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

    She will also serve as executive producer on the upcoming streaming film Star Trek: Section 31.

    Along with her colleague Alex Kurtzman, Kadin became the first featured guests on the companion show TRR: "Brother and New Eden", where they discussed the Discovery's second season, that had just started airing, as well as the upcoming other Star Trek shows.

    In 2020, Kadin received an Emmy Award co-nomination for the second season of Star Trek: Short Treks, her very first industry award nomination, followed by a Children & Family Emmy Awards co-nomination for the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy in 2022.

    Holding the position as President of Television at Kurtzman and Roberto Orci's production company K/O Paper Products, Kadin previously worked as executive producer on the television series Matador (2014), Scorpion (2014-2015), Sleepy Hollow (2013-2015), and Limitless (2015) as well as on the television movies Tales from the Darkside (2015, co-produced by April Nocifora) and Exit Strategy (2015, art direction by Lauren E. Polizzi). Concurrently, Kadin also held a similar position from 2014 onward in Kurtzman's individual production company Secret Hideout under which she was made co-responsible for CBS's Star Trek television productions, starting with Discovery.

    Before her association with Kurtzman and Orci, Kadin had worked for ABC Television on their series Alias, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, and Desperate Housewives and for Warner Bros. Television on The Closer, Supernatural, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and The Vampire Diaries.

    Kadin received the following "Outstanding" Emmy Award nominations,

    •2020 nomination in the "Outstanding Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series" category for ST Season 2, shared with Alex Kurtzman, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber and Aaron Baiers. This actually was only the fifth time that Star Trek has been nominated for a "major" Emmy Award, the single win solely earned by Star Trek: The Animated Series back in 1975.

  4. Star Trek: Short Treks also received a nomination for Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. The winners will be announced during the Emmy Awards broadcast on September 20th.
