May 18, 2023 · Even Hudson Soft’s logo – a cartoon bee – had a hint of nerdiness to it: in Japanese, the number eight, hachi, also means bee. The radio call sign for the Hokkaido region is JA8, and so a bee was chosen as Hudson’s mascot – a nod to its amateur radio origins.
