Jane Seymour ( / ˈsiːmɔːr /; c. 1508 – 24 October 1537) was Queen of England as the third wife of King Henry VIII from their marriage on 30 May 1536 until her death the next year.
Jane Seymour, third wife of King Henry VIII of England and mother of King Edward VI. She succeeded—where Henry’s previous wives had failed—in providing a legitimate male heir to the throne. The future Edward VI was born on October 12, 1537, but Jane died 12 days later.

On 24 October 1537, Henry VIII’s third and favourite wife – Jane Seymour – died shortly after giving birth. Having given Henry the son that he had craved for so long, she was the only one of his six wives to be given a full Queen’s funeral, and was later buried beside the King.

From a Wiltshire gentry family at Wolf Hall, which the king visited in September 1535, she was said to be quiet and amiable, while Anne was growing more highly strung and imperious.
