    Jeffrey DeMunn is an American actor who portrayed Dale Horvath in AMC's The Walking Dead.

    Jeffrey DeMunn studied in England at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, then returned to America and was a member of the National Shakespeare Company. He has starred in many theatre productions, both on and off Broadway, including "K2" (for which he received a Tony Award for Best Actor for his role as Taylor), "Spoils of War" as Andrew and "Comedians" as Phil Murray and an understudy for Gethin Price.

    He is known as a favorite of director and original showrunner Frank Darabont, who has cast him in all four of his films: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Majestic and The Mist.

    He has been involved in several of Stephen King's adaptations. He has acted in film adaptations of Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist and the T.V. miniseries Storm of the Century. He also narrated the audiobooks for Dreamcatcher and The Colorado Kid.

    In 1995, he won a CableACE Award as Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or Miniseries for his portrayal of serial killer Andrei Chikatilo in the HBO film Citizen X and received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie nomination for his performance.

    •He is among the several cast members who starred in Frank Darabont's The Mist, along with Laurie Holden, Melissa McBride, Juan Gabriel Pareja, Tiffany Morgan and Sam Witwer.
