Lenore "Lee" Krasner (born Lena Krassner; October 27, 1908 – June 19, 1984) was an American painter and visual artist active primarily in New York whose work has been associated with the Abstract Expressionist movement.
One of the first-generation Abstract Expressionists, and a painter whose considerable achievements have been recognized only recently, Lee Krasner was born in Brooklyn, New York. She received art training at Cooper Union, the Art Students League, and the National Academy of Design in New York.
