Music by. Maurice Jarre. "No Way Out" is one of those thrillers like "Jagged Edge," where the plot gives us a great deal of information, but the more we know, the less we understand. It's like a terrifying jigsaw puzzle. And because the story is so tightly wound and the performances are so good, I found myself really caring about the characters.
Synopsis. At a ball, U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Tom Farrell (Kevin Costner) meets a young woman, Susan Atwell (Sean Young), and the two immediately begin an affair, although Atwell is involved with someone else. During his next Naval deployment, Farrell rescues a fellow sailor during a storm and becomes a hero.
No Way Out (1987) offers the cinema-goer a new sort of villain: worse than Russian spies disguised as American Naval Heroes, worse than prostitutes, worse than ex-assassins from shadowy black ops death squads. He is the Evil, Well-Groomed Scheming **** in the corridors of the Pentagon, secretly in love with ungrateful Gene Hackman.
