The 230-mile-long backbone of the Ozark Trail links eight continuous trail sections: the Courtois Creek, Trace Creek, Middle Fork, Karkaghne, Blair Creek, Current River, Between the Rivers, and Eleven Point sections. Most thru-hikers travel north to south, but the route works in either direction.

It's hard to overstate how incredible and scenic this section of the Ozark Trail is. There are 1.5 billion-year-old mountains, igneous meadows, springs, grand vistas, odd rock formations, and a swimming hole with natural flumes.
Apr 1, 2021 · Ozark Trail. The Ozark Trail runs through the heart of the riverways along the Upper Current River, Current River and Blair Creek sections. Hikers may chose to do an overnight, multiday or just hike a few miles along these sections.
Sep 28, 2023 · Ozark Trail Maps: The 200 + miles of the Ozark Trail runs from Onondaga State Park south through the Ozark Plateau. Upon completion it will cross the Arkansas border north of Mountain Home, AR and Norfork Lake to connect to the Ozark Highland Trail.
