We wanted the same vibe on the album cover, so here we are, this heavy metal band in this old saloon from 1846 with these old cowboys around the bar, and we’re totally out of place.

Dec 3, 2019 · Although Cowboys From Hell may not have been “a complete change”, it was pretty damn close. The album completed Pantera’s transition from glam-metal-inflected hair farmers into street-tough headbangers, incorporating the more crushing influence of hardcore and thrash.
- Bassist Rex Brown wrote the acoustic intro to "Cemetery Gates" and played rhythm guitar on the title-track. Cowboys From Hellintroduced the world to the guitar heroics of Dimebag Darrell.
