The Rev. Patrick J. O'Connor is accused of sexually abusing a child in the late 1980s while associate pastor of St. Joseph's. He was placed on leave Sept. 3, becoming the 16th priest in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland to be suspended amid abuse allegations.
O'Connor, 49, was accused of sexually abusing a minor in the late 1980s while he was an associate at St. Joseph Church in Cuyahoga Falls. The Diocesan Review Board determined the allegation was credible, and O'Connor was placed on leave from a teaching position at Borromeo Seminary in Wickliffe.
The Rev. Patrick O'Connor, who declined to comment Tuesday, was placed on leave on Sept. 3, 2003, after a diocesan review board determined that the allegation against him was credible enough to warrant a full investigation.
