J. Wellington Wimpy, or just Wimpy, is a Thimble Theatre character created in 1931 by E. C. Segar. A lead character and regular for much of the strip's run since the 1930s, he is a gluttonous hamburger lover and close friend of Popeye's, known for his mooching ways and a deceptively high level of intelligence.
