But maybe I'm being a bit unfair. Movies take plot ideas or even entire scenes from other ones and put a new spin on them, or the characters are interesting enough that we don't care about the lack of originality. But the sad truth is that R.I.P.D. doesn't even try. The characters are all stereotypes played with no real interest by their actors.
