Are we sure that this was concept art for the episode or just a random doodle she drew while working on the episode? This is the girl who drew Ed Edd n Eddy slash for fun we’re talking about. If it was concept, I see two probable reasons: Rebeca knew she wanted to make Marceline more prominent, but hadn’t decided how yet.
