By Sylvia Wrobel. Dr. Richard Levinson discovered medical sociology as a college student. Beginning in the early 1970s, when Levinson was a young sociology professor at Emory College, public health discovered him.
The Emory University Board of Trustees approved the appointments of Kathleen Miner as professor emeritus of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education and Richard Levinson as Charles Howard Candler Professor Emeritus of Public Health and professor emeritus of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education, effective Feb. 1, 2019.

Apr 3, 2022 · After my first year of graduate school, I was asked to serve as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Emory’s Undergraduate Summer Program at the London School of Economics (focusing on medical sociology and public health). This program was co-directed by Drs. Richard Levinson and Karen Hegtvedt.
