Missouri. Missouri was founded in 1976 by Kansas City singer and songwriter, Ron West. As the sole writer of the songs, Ron hand-picked his band members and quickly began working in the studio, releasing their self-titled debut album in August of 1977 on Panama Records.

May 18, 2020 · Ronald Hodgden’s stage name was Ron West, lead singer for Missouri and Chesmann Square. He was a legend- a man living two different lives as a touring musician and a suburban father. Ron West was the voice and vision behind the Chesmann and later Missouri, two bands that showcased what is possible when you don’t give up on your dreams.

Ron West passed away on May 2, 2020, after battling Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) for six years; the band announced his passing via their Facebook page. In the summer of 2022, Frank Drummond joined the band as their new lead singer.
It was a most memorable rock n’ roll reunion for friends and families. "Missouri" first performed in St. Louis in 1977 with the original band members Ron West, Lane Turner, Randall Platt, Bill Larson and Alan Cohen. Missouri’s second album “Welcome to Missouri” credits Randall Platt, Ron West, Alan Cohen, Webb Waterman and Dan Billings.
