School Daze was the 136th overall episode of Sanford and Son. Also the 25th episode of Season Six, as well as the series final episode, it first aired on NBC-TV on March 25, 1977.
For a month Fred and Bubba have been sneaking out at night, concerning family and friends and leading Donna to fear that Fred has fallen for another woman.
Can it be that Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx) has fallen in love with a white woman named Doris? That's what Lamont and Donna (Lynn Hamilton) are led to believe when Fred begins mysteriously disappearing each and every night. It turns out, however, that Doris Chandler, "the other woman" is a high-school teacher -- and Fred merely wants to earn his diploma after these many years. This was the 135th and final episode of Sanford and Son.
Note: Sarah Jane Miller appears as Doris Chandler, Fred and Bubba's night school teacher, Barry Wright makes final series appearance as Herman Berry, a fellow student of Fred and Bubba.
