Last week, Shiplake College’s Junior School production of The Wizard of Oz wowed audiences at six sold-out performances at their own Tithe Barn Theatre! The production, directed by drama teachers Mrs Jenny Nunes and Mrs Sian Pearson, was a complete success that tickled families, friends and prospective pupils alike.

Margaret Hamilton, the actress whose role as the cackling Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz unnerved generations of children, died yesterday, apparently of a heart attack, at a nursing home in Salisbury, Connecticut. She was 82 years old.
A variety of different music lessons are on offer at the College, from guitar to drums to trumpet. We have a number of visiting music teachers, who are onsite to teach these co-curricular lessons. Please see below for further information on each member of the team.
Shiplake College is a private boarding and day school in Shiplake, by the River Thames, just outside Henley-on-Thames, England. The school, with 520 pupils, takes boys from 11–18 and girls from 16–18. From September 2023 girls will join Year 7 as the school transitions to become fully co-educational by 2027. [1]
Oct 15, 2012 · The majority of BC students, though, fondly recall from their campus tours the fascinating phenomenon that is Fulton Hall’s Wizard of Oz theme. First and foremost, the large, tin, dome-shaped light fixtures that hang from the ceiling are undoubtedly reminiscent of the Tin Man’s hat.
The Wizard of Oz is a 1939 American musical fantasy film produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). An adaptation of L. Frank Baum's 1900 children's fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, it was primarily directed by Victor Fleming, who left production to take over the troubled Gone with the Wind.
