Feb 1, 2020 · In 2008, the Tampa Bay Rays needed a new logo because of their name change. As such, the devil ray was phased out. In its place, there was now a sunburst in the "R" of the "Rays" that now took the position of central importance.

Dec 7, 2022 · What is this Tampa Bay Rays Logo? The first Tampa Bay Rays logo after dropping the Devil from their name showed RAYS in a navy blue serifed typeface placed on a blue and white baseball diamond with light blue bases and a yellow glint of sun on the R.
The first logotype of their brand showed a gradient blue, green, and yellow oval with a dark blue coloring. At its top they put the italicized sans-serif ‘Tampa Bay’ inscription, styled in all capitals.
