Albert Edward Pryke Briggs MBE (1 March 1923 – 4 October 2008) was a British seaman and the last of the three survivors of the destruction of the battlecruiser HMS Hood. He remained in the Royal Navy after the Second World War and was later commissioned, serving a total of 35 years in the Royal Navy by the time of his retirement in 1973.
Ted Briggs was the longest living survivor of the sinking of Hood and as such the most well-known of her crew. He also served for many years as the President of the H.M.S. Hood Association. He kindly approved the following brief biography in the early 2000s. Sadly, he passed away in October 2008.
