If you want a truly hellish experience, go take om Fargo's Soul mod. Just know Fargo's Mutant mod is also needed. It only adds a handful of new items, and technically only 3 new bosses along with a new togglable diffeculty, Eternity mode.

The Stars Above is a great mod that's actually balanced with Calamity (if installed) in mind, if you want to go that route. Some interesting "Starbound in my Terraria" concepts, and some really cool weapons/boss fights. Still rough around the edges, but definitely going to be a front runner for awesome mod content going forward.
