Victor Jack Maddern (16 March 1928 – 22 June 1993) was an English actor. [1] He was described by The Telegraph as having "one of the most distinctive and eloquent faces in post-war British cinema." [2]
Three years after filming Carry On Laughing, Victor Maddern was one of a very few familiar faces to appear in the last film of the original run, Carry On Emmannuelle, in 1978. Victor's scene is one of the few highlights of an otherwise dire film.
The Carry On series is a long-running British sequence of comedy films, stage shows and television programmes produced between 1958 and 1992. Distributed by Anglo-Amalgamated from 1958 to 1966, and the Rank Organisation from 1967 to 1978, the films were all made at Pinewood Studios. [1]
