  5. Dec 27, 2016 · Background. In the early hours of 23 May 1969 a swimmer/sapper attack against ships berthed at the DeLong pier in Vung Tau was thwarted, with Clearance Diving Team 3 (CDT 3) playing a major role in the incident including the recovery of two modern Soviet BPM-2 limpet mines.
