Mar 5, 2021 · A Class C driver's license is the most common type in California. It allows you to drive various vehicles, such as cars, vans, motorcycles, and trailers, but with some weight and towing limits.
Class C. A class C non-CDL is what most private citizens have. Despite this, you actually are allowed to drive more than just your basic sedan or SUV. Along with your usual private car, a class C license holder can drive a vehicle with a GVWR of 26,000 pounds or less. You may also tow a trailer no more than 10,000 pounds.
A Class C license is the basic, noncommercial driver’s license in California. The only way to get one is to show up at a DMV field office. What you do once you’re there depends on your age and legal residency (documentation) status.
Class “C” — Specialty Contractor. There are 42 separate “C” license classifications for contractors whose construction work requires special skill and whose principal contracting business involves the use of specialized building trades or crafts.
