Emo Nite isn’t a band or a DJ crew. It’s an idea, one as simple as the urge to throw a party for a beloved style of music. Not only is Emo Night for emos, but it’s also for punks, rebels and everything in between. With lyrics such as “I don’t ever want to be like you/I don’t want to do the things you do,” Good Charlotte’s “The Anthem” is basically the anthemfor Emo Night. If you don’t know this song, you’re a goner for sure.

What’s a night out without a little romance? Taking Back Sunday’s “MakeDamnSure” isn’t the most affectionate track to exist. In fact, it’s a little possessive, but hear us out. Imagine you’re with your SO, arms around each other, looking into each other’s eyes as you sing, “I’m gonna make damn sure that you can’t ever leave.” Oh, the heart eyes.

Just because you can’t understand what Patrick Stump says sometimes in Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” doesn’t mean you can’t rock out to it. Pair it with Pete Wentz-styled eyeliner, and it’s a perfect recipe for a good time.

This wouldn’t be a valid emo essentials list without including My Chemical Romance. Sure, there’s classics such as “Welcome To The Black Parade” and “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” to get you crying in the club, but let’s not forget about “Helena.” The emotional track is sure to elicit a few tears, and frankly, it wouldn’t be an Emo Night without them.

There’s no better track to fit with the swoopy hair then Paramore’s “Misery Business.” Hayley Williams became the queen of throwing shade when this track was released, and it’s still relatable today. A true revenge song, it’ll make you feel like you’re winning at life as you sing along to “Whoa, well I never meant to brag/But I’ve gotten what I wan...

Just because it’s called Emo Night doesn’t mean you can’t have some positivity, and Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle” provides just that. We may be able to be happily sad for extended periods of time, but even we have a limit. It’s nice to be able to jump around between all the screaming of desolate lyrics.

Don’t want to join your friends out because you want to dance? Don’t worry, there’s a song for you too: Metro Station’s “Shake It.” There’s not a still body in the venue when this track is played, so feel free to let loose.

There’s no better way to open the pit than with A Day To Remember’s “The Downfall Of Us All.” As soon as you hear the opening, it’s in your best interest to move away from the middle of the floor unless you’re down to mosh, because after hours of getting in your feels, there’s bound to be some pent-up angst that needs to be unleashed.

Is this song outdated because of the lyrical content? Probably. Is that going to stop us from screaming it at the top of our lungs when they play this banger in the club? Absolutely not. We don’t know what it is, but there’s something about 3OH!3’s “DONTTRUSTME” that we can’t let go of. (It might be this iconic line: “Tell your boyfriend if he says...

You don’t need to have lived in Ohio to appreciate Hawthorne Heights’ “Ohio Is For Lovers,” but it may hit harder if you’re associated with the state. If you’re not trying to scream both parts of the chorus, you’re doing yourself a great injustice. There’s plenty of tracks that make Emo Night what it is, so which songs are your faves? Let us know i...
