  5. Yes indeed. The first century was 1-100 , the twentieth century was 1901-2000, and the second millennium was 1001-2000. Big celebration should have been at the end of 2000, which was the end of the twentieth century and the second millennium, the beginning of the 21st century and the beginning of the third millennium.

  6. How do we refer to the last decade? 2000-2009. 1980-1989: "the eighties" 1990-1999: "the nineties" 2000-2009: "the oh's"???   7. The century began on January 1 2001. There's no doubt of this if the year of Christ's birth is taken to be 1 A.D. The decade count is more nominal than historical, so in my opinion it began in 2000 and ends at the end of 2009.
