Katharina von Anhalt-Bernburg was the daughter of Bernhard III, Furst von Anhalt, Graf von Aschersleben, Herr von Bernburg and either his first wife, Agnes von Sachsen-Wittenberg, or possibly his second wife, Mathilde von Anhalt.See Research Notes for further discussion.

Friedrich von Anhalt-Bernburg (1700–1765) aus dessen zweiter Ehe mit Albertine (1712–1750), Tochter des Markgrafen Albrecht Friedrich von Brandenburg-Schwedt . Nach dessen Tod trat er die Regierungsnachfolge an und verlegte die Residenz von Bernburg nach Ballenstedt.
She married Magnus II "Torqatus" von Braunschweig-Lüneburg on 6 October 1356. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. She died on 30 January 1390, in Brunswick-Lüneburg, Holy Roman Empire, at the age of 58, and was buried in Hanover, Prussia, Germany.
