Marduk. MARDUK mär’ dōōk. Marduk became chief god of the Babylonian pantheon at the time of Hammurabi. To him were transferred the functions and exploits of the storm-god and creator En-lil. His principal temple was the É-sag-ila, “the house that lifts up its head” in Babylon.

But getting from Amel-Marduk to Jesus can’t be done based on biblical information because the information just doesn’t seem to be there. Then, Ussher leaves the Bible and starts working with Berossus.

Daniel is involved through 539 when Cyrus comes to Babylon, but no mention is made of Amel-Marduk or Neriglissar. Ezekiel’s prophecies do not extend beyond 571 B.C. when Nebuchadnezzar was still ruling.
