She was born September 5, 1943 to Daniel and Martha Anne Gilchrist Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Leon Fausett, her daughter Martha Chardavoyne Athon (Jay) and special friend Charles Story.

She is survived by : her brother Dan Gilchrist (Carolyn); her nieces, Katie Gilchrist and Lillian Thomas (David); her nephew Don Gilchrist (Blair); her grandson Gil Lewis (Traci); and her great grandchildren, Lillian Lewis and Callen Lewis. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Courtland Presbyterian Church.

Mar 21, 2022 · Martha Athon is survived by her mother, Anne Gilchrist Fausett; son, James “Gil” Gilchrist (Traci) Lewis; and grandchildren, James Callen Lewis and Lillian Nicole Lewis. Her funeral was Saturday afternoon at Courtland Presbyterian Church and followed by a private graveside burial. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
