Mother. Anne of Mecklenburg-Stargard. Barnim VI, Duke of Pomerania ( c. 1365 – 22 September 1405 in Pütnitz, near Ribnitz-Damgarten) was duke of Pomerania-Wolgast from 1394 to 1405. He was the son of Wartislaw VI of Pomerania-Wolgast. Barnim is known for his engagement in piracy.

In 1405, Barnim died of the Black Death. To avoid this fate, he went on a pilgrimage to Kenz near Barth, but died on his way in Pütnitz (a part of today's Ribnitz-Damgarten) on 23 September 1405. Bogislaw IV (bef. 1258 – 19 February 1309), co-ruler from 1276 and sole ruler after his father's death, sharing power with his younger half-brothers. Before 20 May 1267, Barnim I married thirdly with Matilda (b. ca. 1255 – 20 December 1316), a daughter of Otto III, Margrave of Brandenburg. They had five children:

Barnim II ( c. 1277 – 28 May 1295) was Duke of Pomerania . Son of Duke Barnim I and his third wife, Mechtild of Brandenburg, Barnim's father died in 1278 when he was still a child. He was titular co-ruler with younger brother Otto I and his much older half-brother Bogislaw IV, in whose hands effective power lay.
