This biography of Queen Isabella isn't as well-written as Warren Carroll's Isabel of Spain: The Catholic Queen, but it is still highly readable. While both biographies cover much of the same ground, as they have to, Walsh's book was published in 1930, so before World War II, before the Holocaust narrative became the established religion of the United States, and before Vatican II.
