The first season begins with the discovery of a dead body at the centre of the Øresund Bridge, which links the Swedish city of Malmö with the Danish capital Copenhagen, necessitating a joint investigation. Sofia Helin, as the Swedish police detective Saga Norén, stars in all four seasons.

Bron / Broen (or the Bridge) in its first season follows an individual's plunge from an officer of the law to vigilante and subsequent conversion into a psychopathic killer. This series is set in the in-between space physically occupied by the "Bridge" that links Malmo in Sweden to Copenhagen in Denmark.
