In the lead-up to market opening, the electricity market was expected to provide competition, lower prices and transparent price signals to both consumers and investors.
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is Ontario’s leader in generating clean, safe, reliable, and low-cost power. We meet about half of the province’s energy needs through a diverse mix of generating assets consisting of hydroelectric stations, nuclear plants, solar, biomass, and natural gas.
