The federal waiver temporarily allows HHAs to renew without submitting the required 24 hours of in-service training completed during the certification period, until the end of the first full quarter after the declaration of the Public Health Emergency (PHE) concludes.
Current licensees with a Public Health Nurse certificate expiring on or after January 1, 2024, and before January 1, 2026, will not be assessed a renewal fee for the Public Health Nurse certificate.
The CSUN Nursing Program curriculum is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing to prepare eligible applicants for certification in Public Health Nursing in California. Certification is granted by the Board of Nursing (BRN) after completion of curriculum and application to the Board.
