To get me in the spirit of the season (I will be visiting Joyland in a couple weeks, an abandoned theme park) I decided to hunt down a film called Closed For The Season, filmed at Chippewa Lake Park in 2010. Turns out it's titled under Carnival of Fear on Tubi, so I have been searching by the wrong title all these years.
The movie was filmed in the actual abandoned Chippewa Lake amusement park. At the start of principal photography, the park has been abandoned 30 years. All of the people seen walking by the ferris wheel at the end of the movie were local residents of Chippewa and the surrounding towns.
