As I found out online, the Contra Costa Canal Trail is a 13.9 mile horseshoe shaped trail that runs through parts of Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and Concord. Mostly alongside a waterway easement and through neighborhoods, but past several parks as well (Larkey, Heather Farms, etc).
