While there are no campgrounds to speak of in the northern Outer Banks communities of Corolla, Duck or Southern Shores, visitors who want to explore the northern and central Outer Banks have plenty of options in Kitty Hawk. The area is home to a half dozen privately run campgrounds which are located throughout the town.
