Knight Rider 2000 seems to take place in an alternate future, which would mean it actually happens after Team Knight Rider, but TKR isn't mentioned in KR2000 at all (obviously, since KR2000 was made before TKR). Not to mention the 2008 series, which completely ignores both KR2000 and TKR.

A successful spin off series derived from the Karate Kid movies. It has appeal to both the older crowd who watched it as kids as well as the current kids and teens. I think for Knight Rider to be successful, it has to reach both audiences.
