  4. When cable companies started moving to an encrypted digital system, those old descramblers became paperweights. I have seen similar boxes for digital cable, but they were just software modded and didn't last very long. The cable company (Rogers in Canada) got wind, they just blacklisted all the serial numbers.

Ordering it for one month strung the cable from the pole to the house. Canceling it meant they left the wire in from the pole to the house, but cut a small part of it off.

I am interested in buying a cable descrambler box, but I am anxious about doing so because I am unclear as to the legality and I really don't want to get in trouble. Why not just rent from Time-Warner NYC? I already do. I have a digital cable box, and pay for many premium stations.
