Down to the Bone is an acid jazz group led by British DJ Stuart Wade, who formed the band in 1996 with Chris Morgans (who later left). The group was popular in the UK, where it is "hailed as the kings of UK jazz groove." The band's music is a mix of funk and jazz. [1] [2]

Nov 13, 2009 · Set up at the tail end of 1995 when Wade decided to take a track from the soul band he was in at the time, Think Twice, and remix it to give it a rawer and stripped down feel. The result was the Down To The Bone remix of the track ‘Joy Is Free’ which had great success.
