Leopold V (1157 – 31 December 1194), known as the Virtuous (German: der Tugendhafte) was a member of the House of Babenberg who reigned as Duke of Austria from 1177 and Duke of Styria within the Holy Roman Empire from 1192 until his death.

May 20, 2023 · Als sein Vater 1177 starb führte Leopold dessen Kampf gegen den Herzog von Böhmen weiter, mit dem im Sommer 1179 Frieden geschlossen und der Grenzverlauf zwischen Böhmen und Österreich geregelt wurde. 1182 unternahm Leopold eine Pilgerreise nach Jerusalem und besuchte unterwegs den byzantinischen Kaiser Alexios II. Komnenos in Konstantinopel.
