Many of you might know this already from other sources, but apparently he was an unoffical stowaway (Ellis Island official term) on a US Navy ship coming back after the war and arrived in the US in late July 1919 at the age of 14. He married a woman a decade older than him in 1928 and had Tony's dad, also named Pierre, the following year.
