Oct 4, 2015 · This way when you pop it back in its length is the same to the controls. With a finger behind the plastic, press the metal clamp slightly with your thumb and pull. It should pop right out. Two on the drivers side and one on the passenger side behind the glove box. Once these are loose, the console will slide right out.

A couple of hidden clips around the shifter plate and six little screws along the side of the console base (3 each side). I did it without removing my seats. You just need to slide the seats forward and back to access the screws.

May 26, 2005 · 481 posts · Joined 2004. #2 · May 26, 2005. Remove the center console. To do this, unscrew the shifter knob, and pry the black plastic tray/shifter bezel up from the console. Remove the three screws on either side of the console. You may have to move the seats forward and back to get to the screws. The console should lift out.

NOTE: - When prying with a flat-up screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage. - Put on gloves to protect your hands. 1. Remove the cover (A). 2. After loosening the mounting screw, then remove the knob (A).
Turn the ignition on after inserting the key. Keep in mind that you are not required to start the car. Search for the shift lock override slot. It’s next to the lever on the shifter console. You may need to remove a plastic cap from the slot. Put a screwdriver, nail file, or key into the slot. Drop it and hold it.
