Bram Stoker was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1847 to Abraham Stoker and Charlotte Thornley Stoker. He was one of seven children. He attended Trinity College, Dublin. He married Florence Balcome in 1878 and the couple had one child, Irving Noel Thornley Stoker.

Some material in the collection relates to William and Bram’s brother Thomas, who worked in the Indian Civil Service from 1872 to 1899, as well as to Bram’s son Irving Noel Thornley Stoker, who worked as a chartered accountant in London.
The following year, the couple’s only child, Irving Noel Thornley Stoker, was born. Death Bram Stoker died in London in 1912, of unknown causes, though it was suspected to have been related to tuberculosis or possibly syphilis.
