In Delaware County this past weekend, I saw some small bucks wandering, one was tagging along with a doe and her 3 yearlings.   4. Nov 21, 2006 · To answer your qeustion..yes in Ohio as long as does are coming into heat..bucks will breed them and some rut activity will continue. You see it every year after gun season. The deer get scattered to the winds and you will all the sudden see new scrapes and rubs on your property in DECEMBER!!

We have seen young bucks "face off" and also push on each other a bit, then proceed to feed together until after dark. My buddy just had a basket 8 pushing on a small 6 Sunday. Another note - I've seen big bucks tolerate a younger buck running with them during the rut.

  6. Oct 23, 2009 · I have hunted public land in Ohio for going on 6yrs. The odds of seeing a 100in. buck are high. I have seen a buck this size and bigger every year. I have taken bucks between 105-148in. all on public ground. The buck in my avatar come off of government land in Ohio.

  8. Nov 1, 2019 · The reason you shoot them before the rut is to improve buck movement and response. Bucks dont like to live in the same area as does, so outside of the rut if there are to many they wont stay in that area to much competition for resources. And during prerut and rut if there are to many does they wont respond to calls and other hunting tactics.
