May 17, 2024 · Best Prague Restaurant – Lokal. One of the best meals during our Prague visit was lunch in Lokal. The popular Lokal was a very good place for classic Czech food. It is a chain of stylish gastro-pubs, which boasts 5 locations in Prague. All the places are always busy and usually have to wait for a table.
Lokál Dlouhá is pretty nice. It's Czech food, but all my Irish friends/family like it. The staff speak decent English. (Lokál is a chain, but it's solid, I think). I also like going to Na Staré Sokolne, but it's a little out of town and it is mostly frequented by Czechs. My Gf is Czech, so she has to order when we go there. 3. Reply. Award.

You can find anything from a typical traditional knedliki/beer to a delicious ice cream at night or some authentic Russian food on a cold winter day. As a big foodie, I am often on the hunt for great places to eat – but I often dislike familiar big-chain places because it becomes a routine.
- Lokál. There are a few locations for what I would say is one of the best restaurants in Prague. I’ve pinned all of the central locations in the above map.
- Jizerske Pekarny. This is a fantastic local bakery where you can sample local Czech sweet and savory dishes. It’s a good place to try chlebíčky, the open-faced sandwiches that are a staple in Prague foods to try.
- Restaurace Mincovna. If you want to go to one of the more modern restaurants in Prague, but still sample great traditional Czech dishes, this is the restaurant to head to.
- U Červeného páva. This is a classic old tavern, which for me, makes it one of the best places to eat in Prague because of the history and ambiance created here.
