Our review: Parents say ( 2 ): Kids say ( 1 ): The movie is a sweet and poignant love story, both between Harris and Sara and Steve Martin and Los Angeles. Martin's deftly written script simultaneously celebrates and pokes fun at a city that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Nov 16, 2021 · THE BOTTOM LINE: ‘L.A. Story’ is a quirky, funny, underrated gem Steve Martin’s ode to L.A. is a hilariously unique comedy that has held up pretty well after 30 years. The surreal take on Angelinos looking for love and attention still feels fresh, and even when some of the gags don’t land, there’s another one 30 seconds later that does.
