On May 8, 2024, Roblox CEO David Baszucki (also known by his alias builderman) announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Roblox was "experimenting with ... new event types," following The Hunt: First Edition. In the same post, he stated he had "been enjoying a replay of the first game [he] built on Roblox" and included a link to the experience Crossroads.
