At 1500 hours, a particularly violent wave broke over the boat, sweeping away four of the experienced eight-man crew on board Low Speed Chase. The missing sailors – Alan Cahill, Alexis Busch, Elmer Morrissey and Jordan Fromm – are all presumed to have drowned. Low Speed Chase was a 38-foot (11.5-meter) racing and cruising sailboat. It was one of 49 yachts competing on Saturday in the 105 th edition of the Full Crew Farallones race.
