Kooky farce about an obnoxious nonconformist and the incompetence of mental health quacks. An abusive creative type in Manhattan (Sean Connery) has writer’s block and is compelled by his waitress wife (Joanne Woodward) to visit a psychiatrist (Patrick O'Neal), but the bore’s dallyings with the quack’s wife (Jean Seberg) worsen the situation.
An abusive, violent sociopath repeatedly gets rewarded for his abusive, violent, sociopathic actions with no consequences. He wallops a pregnant woman in the face, one of many domestic abuse “jokes” in the plot. Co-stars Joanne Woodward and Jean Seberg are better than this!
