Miss World 1955 (Winner) Carmen Susana Duijm Zubillaga (August 11, 1936 – June 18, 2016) [1] [2] was a Venezuelan actress, tv host, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Venezuela 1955 and competed at Miss Universe 1955 , placing in the top 15.
On October 20, 1955, she became the first Latin American woman to be crowned Miss World, and she quickly won international appeal. A clip from 1955 depicts film star Eunice Gayson placed a crown on Susana Duijm head, the first time a Miss World winner was so crowned, sparking what became a longstanding tradition.
