The Montreal Biodome is not what you would consider a dome – and the dome that is a very visible part of the Montreal landscape is actually the BioSPHERE. The Biosphere is an environmental museum that has various green exhibits. See? It is massively confusing. To help clear it up, I have th...

Its rounded shape is evocative of a fossilized shell called a trilobite. The Biodôme – whose name means “House of Life” – is home to more than 4,500 animals from 250 different species and 500 plant species.

  4. History of the Biosphère. The Biosphère is a unique and spectacular location. Its dome, symbolizing social innovation and human inventiveness, is well-known since 1967. In 1995, the structure began housing the first museum entirely dedicated to the connections between society and the environment in North America.

  5. The Montréal Biodôme is a living environment that offers a new experience every time you visit! Whether it's the sloth that decides to get moving, the Laurentian Maple Forest that changes colour in the fall, or the penguins that enter molting season, a visit to the Biodôme is never exactly the same. Since its reopening in 2020, the Biodôme ...
